When Love is Confusing is a 6-week online therapeutic and educational group for adult women living in British Columbia who want to better understand confusing, unhealthy, or emotionally harmful relationship patterns.
You do not need to identify your experience as abuse or have experienced physical violence to participate. Together, we’ll explore mixed signals, attachment and trauma, emotional harm, coercive control, body-based signals, self-trust, and what healthy love can look and feel like.
Frequently Asked Questions
This group is for adult women living in British Columbia who want to better understand confusing, unhealthy, emotionally harmful, or abusive relationship experiences. You may be currently in the relationship, considering leaving, or healing after it has ended.
Will I be expected to share personal experiences?
No. You’re welcome to participate in whatever way feels comfortable. Some participants enjoy sharing, while others prefer to listen, reflect, and learn. Both are welcome. Showing up is participating.
Does the relationship need to involve physical violence?
No. Relationship harm can include emotional abuse, manipulation, coercive control, intimidation, isolation, financial control, sexual coercion, or ongoing patterns that leave you feeling confused, afraid, diminished, or unable to trust yourself. You do not need to label your experience as abuse to participate.
Can I participate if I am still in the relationship?
Yes. You do not need to have ended the relationship or made any decisions about its future. This group is a place to gain information, understand your experiences, and reconnect with your own perspective without pressure to make a particular choice.
Is this group only available in Kamloops?
No. The group meets online through Zoom and is open to adult women throughout British Columbia. You will need a private location, a reliable internet connection, and a device that can access Zoom.
Is the group confidential?
Privacy and confidentiality expectations will be reviewed at the beginning of the group, and every participant will be asked to protect what others share. Because this is a group setting, the facilitators cannot guarantee the actions of other participants. We encourage everyone to join from a private space and use headphones when possible.
